Full Project Description:
SoundLab is Heart n Soul’s new innovative digital music making project. Over the next year we will be exploring ways of using technology to encourage people with learning disabilities to create sound and music experiences. We will also be creating computer software that we will share with organisations and creators to make access to digital technology easier too.
SoundLab was first tested at The Beautiful Octopus Club in 2013. It gave audiences the chance to take part in a live music jam using iPads.
The SoundLab website is a place where people can learn how to make their own music using digital programmes and apps.
Through SoundLab: Configuring Creativity (£119,938), Heart n Soul, Public Domain Corporation and Dr. Mick Grierson of Goldsmiths, University of London will investigate in the capital how digital technologies can help people with learning difficulties to create sound and music experiences.
