Art, Artists and Technology – TECHnique Podcast

TECHnique Artists Tech Podcast

Podcast where Artists Discuss Technology Returns

The TECHnique podcast returns, as Samuel Fry and Richard Adams interview artists about their use of technology.

Create Hub are delighted to announce the return of the TECHnique podcast, where Samuel Fry and Richard Adams interview artists about their use of technology.

The podcast returns following an initial 6 episode series in 2016, at which time the episodes covered topics such as Interactive PlaysArt PracticeGamingSmall BusinessTwitterBots and the Death of Painting. These episodes were released in the lead up to an event, also called TECHnique, at Google Campus London in August 2016, where four artists presented their approach to using digital technologies.

Artists discuss Art, Process and their use of Technology

The new set of podcasts was announce by Samuel Fry in an preview episode called “New Episodes Coming Soon”.

Fry explains in the short podcast that, “we did try and release a few of these episodes last year, in 2016. We released them at the time as 6 episodes, released once a week for 6 weeks. What we have decided – off the back of that – is that we would like to do more of these, but rather than committing to release them once a week, we will release them more like once a month.” He continued to explain that, “We want to make sure we get them out on a regular basis”.

As with the initial series, each episode will have its own theme. The next few episodes are due to include discussions with artists about topics such as games music, portraying dementia, working with digital crafts and making predictions.

If you are an artist and you are interested in being involved in an interview on the TECHnique Podcast, then please get in contact with @samueljfry and @dickyadams on Twitter.

The podcast is available on iTunesSoundCloud and most podcasting apps and the first 6 episodes are still available to listen to.
